Warranty and After-warranty Repairs

We at Elnec are deeply committed to quality of our products - it is one of our top priorities. Our hardware is reliable and well built, therefore we can provide exceptionally long warranty (3 years) on all our universal and production programmers. For the products repaired under warranty, Elnec provides free shipping back (on return) to customers worldwide.

1. Warranty period Repair service / Repairs covered by warranty:

1.a
Warranty repair will be performed within 5 working days after Elnec receives a defective product. Preferential handling of repair requests ensures registration of the product that should be done within sixty 60 days from the date of purchase here.
1.b
The longer repair time can be expected for BeeHive208S (6-7 working days) and for the products provided for repair without clear and complete description of error.
1.c
If the matter is urgent - we also provide speed-up repair, within 2 working days from getting defective product. Speed-up fee is requested in such case - it is 30% of out-of-warranty price (see below, pricelist of repairs). The request for speed-up of repair treatment/management must be known before the RMA number is assigned to the case.

1.1.2 in case of programming adapters/modules, the repair time mentioned above can be extended due to various reasons, for example out of stock spare parts (ZIF socket), necessity to send ZIF socket to the ZIF socket manufacturer for analysis or a need of the extensive analysis/testing in our lab
1.1.3 please see the paragraph below, to be familiar with the warranty repair conditions and procedures, before sending any shipment to Elnec
1.1.4 warranty repair doesn't include exchange of ZIF socket of the programmer. If required, this item can be ordered and paid separately
1.1.5 in case of the programming adapter/module, sent for repair/replacement/analysis within warranty period: when the analysis show, that adapter/module is out of warranty due to any reason (see Terms and conditions, points 6.5 and 6.8), this adapter/module will be either replaced by new one at standard price or will be returned back at the fee, that cover the costs of the requested analysis - that is 40€ per hour (charging by 30 minute interval) plus shipping fee.

1.2 Warranty service/repairs procedures:

  • applicable only for customers who purchased Elnec product from authorized Elnec distributor in country of customer seat (please see authorised Elnec distributor(s) for your location here / if there is no authorized distributor in your location please contact Elnec directly
  • please see paragraph 1.3 for detailed instructions
1.2.2
Warranty service/repair by Elnec s.r.o.
  • applicable for customers who purchased Elnec product from Elnec s.r.o. directly or purchased and registered original Elnec product from Elnec distributor
  • please see paragraph 1.4 for detailed instructions

1.3 Procedure of request for Warranty service/repair by local authorised distributor of Elnec:

1.3.1
customer should contact his local authorized Elnec distributor, describe his problem in detail and ask distributor to consider next steps
1.3.2
if it is necessary to send product for repair to your authorized distributor shipping cost is covered by:
  • customer for sending product to authorized distributor
  • authorized distributor for sending repaired product back to customer
1.3.3
before sending your product, please write down the model and serial number and keep it for your reference and follow instructions provided by your authorised local distributor

1.4 Procedure of request for Warranty service/repair by Elnec s.r.o. - RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) process:

first of all, customer must create a Problem report where he describes the problem in detail
1.4.2
according to information provided by customer, Elnec will inform customer of next steps:
1.4.2.1
if it is necessary to send a product for repair to Elnec s.r.o. shipping cost is covered by:
  • customer for sending product to Elnec
  • Elnec for sending repaired product back to customer
1.4.2.2
if it is necessary to send a product for repair/diagnostic to Elnec s.r.o., customer will receive RMA number from Elnec.

1.4.2.3 Notes:
1.4.2.3.1 it is required to place this RMA number at the document which accompanies defective product as well as to provide RMA number at shipment box
1.4.2.3.2 please note, that defective product sent without RMA process accomplished and/or if shipping instructions provided by Elnec were not followed, may not be accepted by Elnec and/or refused to repair
1.4.2.3.3 before sending your product, please write down the model and serial number and keep it for your reference
1.4.2.3.4 we recommend using a shipping company - like DHL - that provides a tracking number
1.4.2.3.5 we do not need to receive accessories with the product unless they help us to evaluate the issue with the product
1.4.2.3.6 if product do not meet warranty terms we will send customer our estimate of repair service cost for approval
1.4.2.3.7 repair of programmer include calibration but we provide none calibration test report/protocol. If needed, the Programmer calibration service should be ordered separately.

1.4.2.3.9 if device programmer, programming adapter/module, or other Elnec product, sent for repair within warranty period is sent without any description of issue, and our tests show no error, such device programmer testing service will be considered as request for testing. The same policy will be applied, if product sent for repair is incomplete and reason of issue with product is caused by defect on part(s) that was not sent together with product. Fee of such service is half of price mentioned in standard pricelist of repairs in "After warranty period Repair service procedures" section

2. After warranty period Repair service procedures

Please see all paragraphs below, to be familiar with the After warranty repair service conditions and procedures, before sending any shipment to Elnec.

2.a
Elnec offers very flexible after warranty period Repair service that is applicable also to majority of discontinued products. Standardly repair will be made within 5 working days after Elnec receives the product. The longer repair time can be expected for BeeHive/208S (6-7 working days) and for the products provided for repair without clear and complete description of error.
2.b
If the matter is urgent - we also provide speed-up repair, within 2 working days from getting defective product. 2.c
Elnec s.r.o. gives 6 months guarantee on failure of After-Warranty period repaired products. This warranty is limited only to the parts of goods, replaced or influenced by that repair. If DIL ZIF socket of the programmer was replaced, limitation of 25.000 cycles on the ZIF socket also applies (it is given by the life time of ZIF socket).

For repairs not covered by warranty /After warranty period repairs customer will be billed according to the costs of replacement materials, service time and freight. Elnec s.r.o. will determine whether the defective product should be repaired or replaced and judge whether or not the warranty applies.

2.1.2.1 Notes:
2.1.2.1.1 *above repair charges include programmer parts only, charge for computer parts should be determined after its inspection
2.1.2.1.2 above repair charges are not valid, if product is totally "burned-out" (damage of all active components by applying of high voltage, mechanical damage ...) and repair is not effective
2.1.2.1.3 repair of programmer include calibration but we provide none calibration test report/protocol. If needed, the Programmer calibration service should be ordered separately.
2.1.2.1.4 programming adapters and modules are "consumable". Therefore we do not repair out-of-warranty programming adapters/modules
